RATIONAL OR REASON FOR ESTABLISHING THE PROJECT
Quite number of our children are school leavers, school dropout and homeless youths are out idling and roaming in the village and towns due to one or some of the reasons listed below :
- Lack of some means to keep them in school;
- Poverty, illness or productivity of parents or guardians to maintain them in school;
- Other socio-economic factors adversely affecting the children’s parent, these include divorce of parents or broken homes, demise of the parents or supporting relations, etc. . . ;
- Setting up school for such kids will make a positive difference for their future. Concerned about the plight of children in our community, school leavers, school dropout and the like, these children have little or no means and prospect of getting a better future for themselves. They have no hope or vision to contribute to the nation building if they are not included in the system;
- Keeping these children gainfully and meaningfully occupied or engaged in a continuing education would relief them from bondage of retardation, deprivation and backwardness just to name a few;
- Notwithstanding the significant role played by the government, NGO’s, private philanthropic organizations, institutions and individuals had contributed a lot, but there is an additional need for concerted effort to do more.
AIMS / OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT :
- Help the children emancipate from the thrones of insolvency, need and idleness;
- Give the children a better or second chance to help them re-organize and catch up with their peers.
BACKGROUND :
Presently, there is no center or institution of learning set up to address or alleviate the plight of these children. Setting up a learning center or school would go a long way in addressing the situation.
GROUP / COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTION TOWARDS THIS PROJECT :
People living in the village and surrounding will participate by providing the manpower ( no skills labor work ) to contribute for the development of the project.
LITERATURE REVIEW
Very few if there is any, institution, Day-care Center or school of this type is been run within the area, hence the need to establish one of its kind, and so make a difference in alleviating the plight of these children in this new area of the settlement.
SUSTAINABILITY
There is a high demand and need for such a school within the area, as this would easily bring education to the door step of these children who dearly need it. Stakeholder interest, concern and support which is so crucial has been clearly manifest and assure.
WHAT CONTRIBUTION WOULD THE GROUP / COMMUNITY CONTINUE TO MAKE :
- Voluntary service from the parents and other members of the community;
- Monthly contributions from the parents, guardians and other relatives of the children.
ESTIMATED TIME NEEDED FOR THE PROJECT :
Six ( 6 ) months from the time of acquisition of the fund.
PROPOSED START DATE :
Commencement or date of start would be determined as soon as the fund is available.
EVALUATION OF THE PROJECT :
This project will be evaluated after every three months by the school administration with the classroom teacher and every end of an academic, it will be evaluated by Senior Management Team with the cluster Monitor.
REPORT OF THE PROJECT :
Report will be written to show how the project developing or the progress of the project is.
